Your Meridian public profile is a dedicated page that represents you — or your agency — to the world. Merchants, potential clients, and collaborators can find your profile through the Meridian directory, search engines, and direct links. A well-optimized profile communicates your specializations, showcases the apps you’ve shipped, displays your certifications, and gives visitors a clear way to contact you. Every field you fill in improves your seoScore, your directoryRank, and ultimately the number of qualified leads your profile generates.

Profile types

When you create your profile, you choose one of two types. This setting shapes which fields are available to you.
Use profileType: "developer" if you’re an individual developer or solo operator. Your profile focuses on your personal expertise, the apps you’ve shipped, and your individual certifications.
You can only have one public profile per Meridian account. Choose your profile type at creation; contact support to change it later.

Core profile fields

FieldDescription
slugThe URL-safe identifier for your profile (e.g., meridian.app/d/your-slug)
nameYour name or agency name as displayed on the profile
taglineOne sentence that sums up your focus (shown in directory cards)
descriptionFull bio or agency description; supports rich text
specializationsArray of focus areas (e.g., “Shopify Plus”, “subscription apps”)
logoProfile image or agency logo URL
websiteYour primary website URL
Choose a slug that is short, memorable, and reflects your brand. Your tagline appears on directory listing cards, so make it specific — “Shopify subscription app developer” converts better than “App developer”. Add links to your presence on major platforms through socialLinks. Each entry has a platform and url. Supported platforms: github, twitter, linkedin, website, youtube, discord.
const socialLinks: SocialLink[] = [
  { platform: "github", url: "https://github.com/your-handle" },
  { platform: "linkedin", url: "https://linkedin.com/in/your-profile" },
  { platform: "twitter", url: "https://twitter.com/your-handle" },
]
Profiles with three or more social links rank higher in directory search because they signal an active, credible presence.

Agency-specific fields

If your profileType is "agency", fill in these additional fields:
FieldDescription
teamSizeTotal number of people on your team
teamMembersArray of { name, role, avatar? } objects shown on the profile
Displaying team members adds social proof and helps merchants understand who they’d be working with. Each team member can include an avatar image URL.

Publishing your profile

Your profile is hidden from the directory until you set isPublished to true.
1

Complete your core fields

Fill in at minimum: name, tagline, description, specializations, and at least one socialLink. These fields are required to achieve a meaningful seoScore.
2

Add your shipped apps

Add at least one ShippedApp to your profile (see the Reputation section below). Profiles without apps rank lower in directory search.
3

Review your SEO score

Open Directory → Profile and check your seoScore (0–100). Address the suggestions shown to raise your score before publishing.
4

Publish

Toggle Publish profile to set isPublished: true. Your profile becomes immediately visible at meridian.app/d/your-slug and eligible for directory indexing.
Once published, you’ll see pageViews and uniqueVisitors accumulate on your profile dashboard.

Directory listing

Publishing your profile opts it into the Meridian directory. The DirectoryListing object tracks how your profile performs in search.
FieldDescription
isListedWhether your profile appears in directory search results
seoScoreYour profile’s SEO quality score (0–100)
isIndexedWhether search engines can crawl and index your profile page
metaTitleThe <title> tag shown in search results
metaDescriptionThe meta description shown below your title in search results
impressionsTimes your profile appeared in directory search results
clicksTimes a visitor clicked through from a search result to your profile
ctrClick-through rate (clicks / impressions)
Write a metaTitle that includes a key specialization (e.g., “Shopify subscription app developer — Acme Apps”) and keep metaDescription between 140–160 characters. These two fields have the highest direct impact on your ctr.

Search appearance

The SearchAppearance object shows how visitors find your profile.
FieldDescription
topQueriesQueries that surface your profile, with impressions, clicks, and position
activeFiltersDirectory filter categories your profile appears under
directoryRankYour profile’s rank among all totalDirectoryProfiles in the directory
Use topQueries to understand what merchants are searching for when they find you. If the top queries don’t match what you want to be known for, update your specializations and description to align with higher-intent searches.

Reputation: shipped apps and expertise

Your reputation data is the most visible part of your profile to directory visitors.

Shipped apps

Each ShippedApp you add appears in a grid on your profile page.
FieldDescription
nameApp name
categoryShopify App Store category
statuslive, beta, or archived
installsCurrent install count
ratingAverage App Store rating (optional)
reviewCountNumber of App Store reviews (optional)
storeUrlDirect link to your App Store listing
Only add apps you genuinely own or have built. Meridian may verify ownership through your connected Shopify Partner account.

Expertise areas

Meridian automatically derives ExpertiseArea entries from your shipped apps. Each area has:
  • category — The Shopify category (matches your app categories)
  • appCount — Number of your apps in that category
  • levelemerging, experienced, or expert, based on installs and reviews
  • specializations — Specific skills within the category
You can also add specializations manually to highlight skills not yet reflected in your app portfolio.

Achievements

Achievements are milestone badges earned automatically when you hit platform thresholds.
IconRarity
trophy, gemLegendary
rocket, awardRare
shield, starUncommon
zap, targetCommon
Achievements with rarity: "legendary" or "rare" carry the most weight with profile visitors because fewer than a small percentage of developers have earned them.

Testimonials

Testimonials from real merchants and clients add social proof to your profile.
FieldDescription
fromThe reviewer’s name
companyTheir company name (optional)
textThe testimonial body
ratingNumeric rating
isPublicWhether the testimonial appears on your public profile
Set isPublic: true on testimonials you want visible to directory visitors. Keep isPublic: false for internal references or testimonials awaiting permission. Featured placements give your profile priority visibility in the directory — appearing above organic results in specific positions.
FieldDescription
positionThe placement slot name (e.g., “directory-top”, “category-sidebar”)
impressionsHow many times your profile was shown in this slot
clicksClicks from this placement
ctrClick-through rate for the placement
costCost per period for the placement (if paid)
Monitor ctr per placement to evaluate ROI. A low ctr on a paid placement often means your tagline or name isn’t compelling in that context — update them and watch the metric shift.

Verification levels

Verification signals trust to merchants who find your profile. Move up the ladder by completing the steps Meridian shows in your verification dashboard.
LevelWhat it means
unverifiedNo verification completed. Profile is visible but carries no trust signals.
basicEmail and identity confirmed. Profile shows a basic trust indicator.
verifiedFull verification complete. Certification badges are highlighted; profile ranks higher in directory search.
trusted-partnerMeridian’s highest tier. Displayed with a partner badge; strongest ranking boost.
Your VerificationInfo object tracks the individual stepsCompleted and shows a nextStep to guide you to the next level.

SEO optimization tips

Complete every profile field. Profiles with a name, tagline, description, specializations, socialLinks, at least one ShippedApp, and a custom metaTitle and metaDescription consistently score above 80.
Check topQueries in Search appearance. If merchants are searching for “Shopify subscription billing developer” and you specialize in subscriptions, include that phrase naturally in your description and tagline.
Make sure isIndexed: true in your directory listing settings. Profiles that block indexing are invisible to search engines even if they rank well inside the Meridian directory.
Add new ShippedApp entries when you launch apps. Updated profiles get re-crawled faster, and fresh updatedAt timestamps correlate with higher directoryRank.
Certified profiles display badges that increase trust signals and can improve your position in filtered directory searches. See Earn Shopify developer certifications for how to get started.
