Developers can sign up and sign in with a social account instead of a password. Public beta signup does not require an access request or prior approval. Meridian supports three providers:
  • Google
  • GitHub
  • Apple
Choose a provider on the sign-in or sign-up screen and authorize with that account. If you sign up socially and later want a password too, you can set one from your account security settings without entering a current password first. See Password.

When an account already uses your address

Meridian only links a provider to an existing account by an address the provider has verified.
  • The account’s address is verified. The provider is added to it, and everything else stays as it was.
  • The address was never verified. Someone signed up with it and never opened the verification email. That may not have been you, so the provider takes the account over: its password, authenticator app, passkeys and sessions are removed, and the address counts as verified. You keep signing in with the provider. If you want a password as well, set one from your account security settings, or use Forgot password.
