Rankings are the App Store’s category leaderboards, captured daily. Pick a category and you get its ranked apps as merchants saw them that day.

Choosing a category

The category tree is filterable, because there are hundreds of them. Each category shows how many apps it holds.

The leaderboard

Ranked apps with their rating, pricing and page, plus each app’s change against the previous day. Your own app is highlighted when it’s in the list, and when it isn’t on the page you’re looking at, Meridian says which page and position it’s on instead of leaving you to hunt. New entries are marked as such. Ads are shown beside the organic results (up to four per page) and kept out of the ranked list. A position in Meridian therefore always means an organic position, which is the only kind that’s comparable day to day.

Stepping through time

A date scrubber moves between snapshots, so you can walk a category back through earlier days. A day with no capture says so rather than interpolating a position that was never observed.
  • Ranking history for one app across its categories is on its detail page in the explorer.
  • Category-level entries and exits from page one are summarised on the overview.
  • For search position rather than category position, track keywords for your own listing.
