Templates are complete emails to start from: pick one, make it yours, rewrite the copy, ship. They’re the alternative to a blank canvas, and they exist because the gap between “we need an email” and sending one is mostly design work you don’t need to redo. Browse templates from Emails → Templates, or when creating an email. Search them, or filter by category. Each card is a starting point rather than a live thing: taking one copies it into your app as a new email.

After you take one

The copy is an ordinary email. Rename it, rewrite it in the builder, set its subject and preview text, then activate it and wire it into an automation. Later changes to the template don’t touch your copy. The buttons and links in a template point at {{app_url}}, which opens your app inside the merchant’s Shopify admin (see Variables). An email you activate without editing them still sends merchants somewhere useful. Change each link in the builder when it should go somewhere more specific, such as a pricing or settings page. Images that come with a template are mirrored into your own email uploads when you save, and the markup is rewritten to point at your copies. A template’s artwork can’t disappear from under a live email.

Naming

You’re asked to name the email as you take the template. The name is internal (it’s what you’ll recognise in the emails list and in the send logs) and you can change it whenever.
